The Campus-Wide TA Award Committee has selected Vincent Ogoti, Ph.D student in African Cultural Studies, as the winner of the Exceptional Service Award.
Vincent Ogoti was the inaugural African Studies Program Teaching Fellow. In that capacity, he developed and taught a course on Nonviolence and Social Change on campus and collaborated with Odyssed Beyond Bars to offer the course at Oakhill Correctional Institution.
To quote from the Award letter, Vincent’s selection from among the field of outstanding nominees attests to his impressive contribution to UW’s educational mission.
Vincent said he thanks the ACS department for nominating him, and also thanks Professor Luís Madureira for the letter of recommendation.
Vincent will attend a reception in March, where he will be celebrated and presented with a certificate commemorating his achievement.
