Job Opening: Assistant Director for the African Studies Initiative

The African Studies Initiative at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities invites applications for the position of Administrative Associate (Job Code 8208A3). This position has the working title Assistant Director and functions as the program coordinator of the Initiative. This is a 100%, 12-month, continuous position subject to the University’s Civil Service Employment Rules.

The African Studies Initiative is the recipient of a Title VI Comprehensive National Resource Center grant in African Studies from the U.S. Department of Education. The Initiative aims to build programming that will enhance education in African Studies at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional school levels, to create academic and scholarly events, and to provide outreach to K-14 educators, media, business, and general audiences.

The African Studies Initiative is affiliated with the Institute for Global Studies (IGS) in the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) and works closely with partner units to contribute to the mission of IGS and CLA.
