Dr. Sabrina Butteris is professor (CHS) and vice chair of clinical affairs in the Divisions of Hospital Medicine and Global Pediatrics. She is the chief for the Division of Global Pediatrics. Butteris’ professional interests include developing local and international partnerships that span health systems and K-12 school environments to address challenges affecting children’s health. Her work with global health has focused on leadership, curriculum development and education in the U.S. and abroad. She co-founded and has served as the co-leader for the global health learning community of the Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD). She chaired the global health task force of the American Board of Pediatrics and served on the education committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) section on global health. She is the co-creator of SUGAR PREP, a quite of free education products used to prepare medical providers to work in resource-limited settings.
