Dr. Jessica Schmidt serves as the director of global health at the University of Wisconsin Department of Emergency Medicine, as well as the assistant director for clinical ultrasound at The American Center and assistant director of ultrasound for medical student education. She is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. While in Baltimore, she completed a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she focused on epidemiology and biostatistics. Dr. Schmidt completed her emergency medicine residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. She then chose to focus on ultrasound and global health by completing an ultrasound fellowship at Denver Health Medical Center.
