In memory of Scott Kloeck-Jenson, a Global Studies Scholar dedicated to global peace and justice, Global Studies, in collaboration with the area studies centers of the International Institute, annually offers the Scott Kloeck-Jenson Fellowship Award and International Institute Graduate Student Summer Fieldwork Award.
The purpose of these awards is to support graduate students at the UW-Madison planning to conduct 6-8 weeks of 2015 summer fieldwork outside of the United States. Amounts awarded to each scholar will depend on the proposed destination, but generally cover airfare and then some; the award is not meant to fully support recipient during time abroad.
The program is open to graduate students of any nationality enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Students may apply for either the International Institute Graduate Student Summer Fieldwork Award or a Scott Kloeck-Jenson Fellowship but not both. Students are encouraged to consider both awards and apply for the one that is the best fit for their work & project at hand.
The deadline to submit applications is Feb. 23, 2015.
