Samty Xiong, a senior majoring in International Studies and African Languages and Literature with a certificate in Middle East studies, discusses how her university experiences and opportunities have opened doors for her future.
From raising breast cancer awareness with her sorority to using her Arabic studies during a study abroad semester in Jordan, Xiong credits UW-Madison with making such experiences possible. In May, Xiong will be the first in her family to graduate from college.
