2016 Educator stipends for African Less Commonly Taught Languages

CARLA_globeThe University of Minnesota African Studies Initiative (ASI) at the Institute for Global Studies (IGS) along with the Center for Advanced research on Language Acquisition (CARLA) are collaborating to offer $500 stipends for educators of African Languages (including Arabic and Portuguese) in order to attend a CARLA summer institute in Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota.  Any K-14 educator who teaches an African language, including Arabic and Portuguese, is eligible to apply.

  2. Submit a one-page resume and a one-page letter of introduction in which you address how the stipend will aid your professional development and how the Summer Institute will aid your teaching of the African less commonly taught language.  Please email the resume and letter of introduction to Deborah Jane at outreach@umn.edu.
