The African Christian Fellowship (ACF) at UW-Madison, the student chapter of ACF Madison, is a vibrant non-denominational organization for African Christians in the diaspora. Founded to serve as a spiritual and cultural home for African students at the University, ACF-UW–Madison is a thriving community that extends its welcome to all UW-Madison students, faculty, staff, and affiliates, regardless of descent or origin. Affiliated with the International Student Services (ISS), the fellowship is dedicated to fostering a stable, functional, and harmonious Christian community that addresses the spiritual, physical, social, and emotional needs of its members.

For students navigating the academic rigor and cultural transition of schooling abroad, ACF provides a vital bridge between faith, culture, and community. The fellowship’s core objectives are centered on promoting Christian fellowship and worship, mobilizing members for effective Godly living, and building bridges of understanding and unity among Christians of diverse backgrounds. It is a place where African heritage is celebrated and Christian values – integrity, excellence, and compassion – are modeled to empower the next generation of leaders. ACF-UW Madison actively works to strengthen families and positively impact Africa’s spiritual and economic development through prayer, missions support, and evangelistic activities. This global vision is realized through tangible mission work, such as medical outreaches providing critical care and bibles in countries like Sierra Leone, and leadership training programs in the Central African Republic aimed at transforming the marketplace through spiritual insight.

Beyond campus, ACF is an active partner in the broader Madison community, connecting the UW chapter to a national organization with over 50 chapters across the United States. The fellowship’s reach extends to social concerns, including helping newly arrived Africans familiarize themselves with their new environment and encouraging active participation in local churches. By focusing on Building the ACF Family, Reconnecting with the Continent, Building Bridges, and Passing the Legacy, ACF-UW Madison ensures that its members are equipped to serve God effectively in communion with fellow local and global worshipers of Christ.

Mark your calendars: the ACF Midwest Conference is coming to Madison this summer, July 2–5.
