Join the Global Impact Circle and the Mead Witter School of Music for two imporant events: an open house and a fundraiser for the Global Impact Musician (GIM) Program. The GIM program is a cross-cultural collaboration with UW–Madison that brings together artists from East Africa and UW–Madison to create innovative projects exploring how music intersects across sectors.

  1. The Open House is on Februray 18, 2-4pm, at the Hamel Music Center’s Lobby
This event will be a fun opportunity for both faculty and students to learn about the GIM program, sign up and join the summer residency, and get to learn a bit about East Africa, its culture, music, and language, and meet new people. There will also be a special experience of Kenyan coffee where a very talented barista will demonstrate hand pouring Kenyan coffee while talking about East African coffee.
  2. The Fundraiser is on Februray 19, 7:30pm, at the Collins Rectial Hall, Hamel Music Center
The fundraiser will include live performances and a panel discussion with Dr. Wanjiku Mwotia, former UN translator, and Harry Kiiru, UW–Madison PhD candidate in African Cultural Studies.
