Bio
Chrissie Thakwalakwa is a Public Health, Nutrition, and Research Specialist. She holds a PhD in International Health from Tampere University in Finland, a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Bachelor of Education Degree from University of Malawi. Until December 2023, she was the Director of the Centre for Social Research of the University of Malawi where she provided leadership and strategic direction to research fellows and the entire CSR staff. She successfully works and collaborates with people of multi-disciplinary backgrounds. She has over 20 years of progressive experience in implementing research strategies, projects and evaluation studies with a strong background in both qualitative and quantitative research. Her research focuses on exploring effective and feasible interventions to tackle Public Health, Nutrition, and development problems affecting different communities and determining policy and program implications of the interventions.
