Klaus awarded African Studies Assocation 2015 Best Graduate Student Paper Prize

{363e4d14-98a2-db11-a735-000c2903e717}Kathleen Klaus, UW-Madison Ph.D ’15, received the 2015 African Studies Association Best Graduate Student Paper Prize for her paper “Contentious Land Claims and the Non-Escalation of Violence: Evidence from Kenya’s Coast Region.”

In 2001, the ASA Board of Directors established an annual prize for the best graduate student paper presented at the ASA Annual Meeting in the previous year.

Klaus is currently a Buffett Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University after finishing a Ph.D in political science with an African studies Ph.D minor in 2015.
