Dr. Alhaji N’jai on Ebloa: Behind the Scary Headlines

alhaji21Dr. Alhaji N’jai, a UW-Madison Research Fellow with the Department of Pathological Sciences, discusses Ebola and its contributing factors in West Africa on The Progressive. N’jai argues that while Ebola is a very deadly disease, the real circumstances behind its dramatic outbreak in West Africa have more to do with poor healthcare, weak education systems and a general lack of sustainable development.

Dr. N’jai is a native of Sierra Leone whose research has focused on toxicology, genomics, immunology, stem cell biology and systems biology. N’jai presented at an African Studies Program weekly Africa at Noon event last January.
