Boston University’s African Studies Center announces Madagascar program, curriculum development grant

The Outreach Program at the Boston University African Studies Center is collaborating with Global Exploration for Educators Organization (GEEO) in order to provide a educators’ travel program to Madagascar for Summer 2018. In addition to the organized educational trip itself, participants will receive PDPs, country-specific lesson plans and teaching resources, and post-trip curriculum development support. Boston University’s African Studies Center will be organizing a half-day workshop in-country, which will include lecturers from local universities and pedagogical frameworks for incorporating Madagascar into your curriculum.

The July 28 – August 10, 2018 trip itinerary, program details, and registration information can be found here.

The Boston University African Studies Center is also pleased to announce a Curriculum Development Grant for educators interested in traveling to Madagascar this summer. If awarded, up to five recipients will receive $1000 to help cover the program costs associated with the 2018 Madagascar trip. The Grant is open only to educators from minority-serving institutions (as defined by the U.S. Department of Education and more fully explained here).
