2019 Global Health Symposium, “Health in the Balance: Acting Now for a Healthy Tomorrow”
University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty, staff, clinicians, students and colleagues are invited to submit abstracts for podium and poster presentations at the 2019 Global Health Symposium, “Health in the Balance: Acting Now for a Healthy Tomorrow.” The call is open to those who are addressing the many facets of global health, from enhancing care to ensuring food security, from strengthening health systems to encouraging active transportation, and more. We encourage and welcome presentations from all disciplines.
Abstracts are due by 11:59 p.m. on February 18, 2019.
The symposium, hosted by the UW-Madison Global Health Institute, begins at 4:00 p.m. on April 16, 2019, in the Health Sciences Learning Center atrium and adjoining rooms. We are pleased to welcome UW-Madison alumna Mary Wilson, M.D., who will deliver the keynote address on microbial ecology and the impact of antibiotics on people and the environment.
Following Wilson’s keynote presentation, selected podium presenters will deliver their work in 15-minute (including time for questions), concurrent sessions. UW and local experts will examine a current, critical health issue during a panel discussion. Posters will be available for viewing all evening, and a poster session follows the panel. Participants and guests are invited to a reception to close the evening.
Please visit GHI’s website for more information on the event and the abstract submission form.
