Welcome Olayinka Olagbegi-Adegbite

The African Studies Program is excited to introduce Olayinka Olagbegi-Adegbite, the new Outreach Coordinator.

Olayinka joins our Program from UW-Madison’s School of Education, where she recently defended her PhD. in Educational Policy Studies, with a concentration on comparative and international education and a minor in Curriculum and Instruction. She has held administrative, teaching, and project assistant positions with various units across campus and has a long track record of successfully working with first-generation underrepresented students from low-income backgrounds through pre-college programming. Olayinka has experience living and researching in Nigeria, where she conducts comparative case studies on language policies and reading pedagogy in multilingual classrooms. Olayinka is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion as they relate to educational opportunities for the underserved. She will be managing our Outreach programs.
