NPR features UW-Madison faculty on Ebola research

npr_logo1National Public Radio features UW-Madison Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine David O’Connor on GB Virus-C, a virus associated with slowing the progression of HIV and heightened Ebola survival rates. The story, part of the NPR’s Morning Edition, asks O’Connor about his work with the virus and the possibility that it may actually be good for those who contract it.

O’Connor’s laboratory studies at UW-Madison examine the interplay between viral pathogenesis and host immunity. Focusing on HIV/AIDS, the lab studies protective immune responses and how host and viral genetics influence disease progression.
