Sculptor brings Ghanaian flair to coffin design

UW-Madison’s “Forward Motion” news series features visiting artist Eric Adjetey Anang of Accra, Ghana.

While in residency with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Art Department, Anang continued his lifelong trade of designing, carving, and painting coffins.

In the video by “Forward Motion,” Anang discusses the social and political messages he tries to convey through his coffins, such as gun violence and racial tensions.

“Forward Motion” airs on the Big Ten Network and features individuals at the University of Wisconsin-Madison involved in cutting-edge teaching and research.
