Bassem Youssef visits with African Studies students

In addition to a Nov. 8 talk at the Wisconsin Union Theatre, Bassem Youssef, dubbed the “Jon Stewart of Egypt,” sat down with students during a recent visit to the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.

Youssef appeared at a joint class session, speaking with students from Assistant Professor Samuel England’s “Arab Publics” course, as well as Assistant Professor Jennifer Pruitt’s course titled “Art and Power in the Arab World.” England is a faculty member in the Department of African Cultural Studies and an affiliate of the African Studies Program.
