African Studies Openings at Michigan State University

The African Studies Center at Michigan State University is looking to fill openings in its staff.

The first is the full-time Assistant Director of Outreach positions.  The Assistant Director for Outreach works closely with the Center Director to provide strong support and leadership for Center outreach on campus, in the broader community and through online digital initiatives. This position requires 1-3 years of related experience as well as a doctoral degree in an Africa-related field. Learn More>>

The second is a part-time Program Manager for the Center’s Ubuntu Dialogues project. The Ubuntu Dialogues: Museums and Communities Connect is a partnership project between the MSU African Studies Center and the Stellenbosch University Museum in South Africa. This 3-year Mellon Foundation funded project will consist of online student dialogues (Ubuntu Conversations); graduate student internship exchanges; and seminars involving academic leaders and heritage professionals (Ubuntu Seminars). This position requires 1-3 years of experience with South African higher education and museum programs, experience with cross-cultural programming, and a doctorate degree in an Africa-related field.
