Open Doors for Refugees: Seeking Swahili-speaking Volunteers

Open Doors For Refugees (ODFR), a local NGO, is seeking volunteers who are able to speak Swahili. Within the last two months, more than 60 persons came to Madison from different parts of Africa, mainly Swahili speakers. Open Doors is in need of volunteers who would be willing to translate documents from English to Swahili, communicate with the Swahili speakers refugees to share ODFR events with them on a WhatsApp group, and eventually accompany them at some urgent appointments.

This help would take 1 hour per week at the most (occasionally two). If you are interested, please contact ODFR Leadership Director Ken Baun at kenbaun@sbcglobal.net.
